When starting a show I am getting the ‘Skip Intro’ button appearing in the top right, highlighted in yellow as if it’s selected. Pressing OK on my remote does not click the Skip Intro button however -the navigation bar and pause buttons appear at the bottom and I have to then press up, then OK to select and click, the Skip Intro button. Anyone else seeing this behaviour? I am using a 3rd party RF remote in case that is involved in the issue.
Ye i have the same exact issue
Glad to hear I’m not alone with this one. Are you using the standard Shield remote? If so then I think it qualifies as an actual bug.
Don’t have any 3rd party remotes, but i just tried with both shield contollers and its only not working with the game controller which i mostly use. Normal controller skips the intro on “OK” as expected.
It’s an Android bug that seems to not be addressed by Plex developers.
Yeah, I’m seeing this bug on my Chromecast w/Google TV (which runs Android TV), but interestingly the google-supplied remote works fine – only a bluetooth remote (sending either “OK” or “Enter” keys) fails in the way you describe. I ran a keyboard helper app, and it says that the google remote is sending scancode 353 instead of the 96 that I get for Enter. Maybe that info will help a plex dev diagnose the bug.
Oh, I’m quite sure it is related to the remote being a 3rd party one, however Netflix on the same Shield seem to have no problem coding a ‘Skip Intro’ button that works with all remotes so it would be nice if Plex would code it the same way.
I have this same problem on a Nvidia Shield 2019, no Skip Intro button at all.
You’re way off. This is for my touchscreen devices.
Sadly, it doesn’t appear that anyone from Plex pays any attention to bugs in these forums. This would be a very easy one for them to fix, if only someone from Plex would see it and do something about it.
Indeed, it has got to the point that when I use the Skip button in Netflix I always subconsciously expect it not to work and get a happy surprise, due to conditioning in Plex.
Yeah, I get the feeling that this will never get fixed. Particularly annoying as you’ve already done the legwork for them regarding the scancodes. Presumably the Netflix app just listens for both 353 and 96.
