Intermittent Library tab and index issues with FireTV

When selecting the Recommended, Library, or Collections tab, and selecting between different libraries, intermittently the content displayed is associated with a previous library and/or the index may disappear. I did discover that while on the Library tab, the filter is set incorrectly, but selecting the Library tab a second time change the filer to the appropriate type.

This is extremely frustrating and requires stopping and restarting the Plex app or the Fire TV Stick. I have this happening across two different Fire TV Stick 4K and one Fire TV Stick Max device.

Example

  1. Selecting the Movies library for the first time, results in all three tabs (Recommended, Library, Collections) displaying the correct content. 2. With the last tab I selected as Collections in the Movies library, selecting the TV Shows library for the first time, results in the Collections tab selected (blue underscore), but the Recommended tab is highlighted and the content is the Recommended TV Show content.
  2. While still in the TV Shows library, selecting Recommended results in the Movies library recommended content being displayed.
  3. Selecting the Movies library, results in Recommended being highlighted, but the Collections content being displayed and both the Recommended and Collections being selected (blue underscore).
  4. Selecting Library displays the library for the Movies library, but leaves Recommended selected (blue underscore) and moving the highlighted selection to Collections shows Library is also selected (blue underscore).
  5. Selecting the TV Shows library again, shows both Recommended selected (blue underscore) and Library as selected (blue underscore) and displays the Recommended content.
  6. While still in the TV Shows library, selecting Library displays the Library list for the Movies library.

It’s fixed on the 9.x clients.

Do you know when the 9.x client for Fire TV will be released?

No. It should already be out. It’s Amazon’s fault right now.

You can side-load the Plex client if you want to upgrade (or downgrade) from what is on the app store now
