So I had to reinstall windows 11 a few weeks ago, ever since I can’t get plex to detect Intro and credits. I’ve been through all of the settings and everything looks right. Anybody else experiencing this problem?
@branhicks Maybe you would
- Go into Setting → General and tell us your PMS version it reports.
- verify you enabled debug logging but not verbose logging.
- Go into Settings → Library and set your Generate intro video markers as shown and Save Changes
- restart PMS
- Add a new video with a simple intro at the beginning of the TV show.
- Scan Library files which should start the detection.
- Note whether it attempts to detect intros (you’ll see activity spinning).
- After it’s done or a few minutes later grab log files using
Settings → Troubleshooting → Download Logs - Drag the zip file into your reply so folks can check whether it’s working.

If you’re reticent to upload your logs, we understand that.
Just let us know.
I’ve had the same problem as him. When I add new movies and shows, it doesn’t detect credits at all. It was working fine about 3–4 months ago. I’ve tried the Plex dance, pressing the Analyze button, and restarting the Plex server, but no luck, it’s still the same. These are my logs in case they help locate the problem, because it’s driving me nuts. ;(
Your log shows this for Credits Detection.

Please downgrade to PMS-1.42.2.10156 (latest Public stable) rather than the beta you are on and retest by adding a new video. The beta has some issues let’s try to avoid.
Also it’s worth mentioning you don’t have to detect credits yourself. You can use the online database of them like this:

My marker source settings is set to try local first, then online if doesn’t find. So my logic is that it should still work.
Idk what happened but my issue seemed to resolve itself after I opened this thread. Everything’s working fine now…
I really wish I could say this someday. ![]()
@nibbles So, to me it says that I am already on 1.42.2.10156 stable version, I don’t even know how to install a beta on Truenas. ![]()
The only versions I can roll back are these, which are vague, because I don’t know the exact App Version
I am using Truenas Scale for my server.
@VIKcentiu the logs you posted show this

Strange it tells you 1.42.2. I wouldn’t have anything more to suggest, though. Your Truenas is beyond my experience and has a number of idiosyncrasies. What I was getting at was the latest beta as listed in your log has issues with the transcoder, and the log seemed to imply it failed to generate any thumbnails which I took to mean the transcoder failed. I could be wrong.
@ChuckPA would you assist?
Weird that it says I had version 1.43. I’ve never installed a beta on my server, as I said, I don’t even know how to do that on TrueNAS.
Hi, can you please assist me with this problem? @ChuckPa
So, I found out why the logs said I was on version 1.43. It’s because, in TrueNAS’s Plex install settings, I selected the “Plex Pass image” instead of the “Plex Official image.” I guess the Plex Pass image is a beta branch. Still, it’s a weird issue that, outside of the logs, it showed version 1.42. I suppose that’s a TrueNAS issue, not a Plex one. The credits detection problem still exists in the 1.43 beta tho, so it still needs a fix.
