"Invalid Verification Code" when setting up 2FA

In ref to this thread which is now closed, I am getting the same issue.
Steps to reproduce:

  1. enable 2FA
  2. use the key and add to password manager client (e.g. lastpass, bitwarden, etc)
  3. enter the newly generated TOTP code
  4. receive error saying “Invalid Verification Code”

Same issue occurs when scanning QR code to create the TOTP code at step 2.

I personally use Bitwarden for 2FA and had to wait for a fresh number to generate before it would accept it.
