Unable to set 2FA on Plex account (Invalid verification code)

Hi all,

Hope someone can help me, recently I have been struggling to logon to Plex with Duo as MFA provider. This has worked for a long time without issues, however, the last few times, I had to connect using the emergency codes as the codes from the Duo authenticator were not accepted.

I therefore removed MFA from my Plex account (just using email auth and not using federated sign-on) with the assumption that I can enable MFA again. Well that is where the issue currently is, whenever I try to scan the QR code (or even enter the code) and then enter the 6 digit code, I get the annoying “Invalid verification code” popping up, even waited for next code to pop up, same thing, using different autheticators like Google & Microsoft Authenticator, same issue.

Does anyone have the holy grail on what else I can try? I have already changed my password and tried all the same steps again, still the same issue. Nothing else I can think of to try tbh.

While you’re waiting to hear back, if your computer’s time is incorrect, it can cause your 2FA codes to fail, as these are time sensitive.

I’m aware of that. The phone is set to update the time automatically. Also, I work in IT and have been enabling and setting up ADFS + Azure MFA for out company, that also involves quite some knowledge of MFA and its setup.
