iOS App triggers log out when switching user

Hey there, fine people of Plex,

first and foremost: I have been using plex for a long time now and I just love it. Fantastic product, well polished and PlexAmp ist just a delight to use :slight_smile:

Unfortunately I just noticed a very annoying behavior that feels like a bug to me. It happens as well on my friends iPhone (we both have iOS 16) and I tried the usual things prior to writing here (I reinstalled the app, I cleared the cache, and so on).

Here is the issue:

I go to “Settings > Account > Switch User” and try to select one of the managed users. When clicking, the UI just hangs for several seconds and then the app moves back to the login screen and I am logged out. I tried everything and neither of us is able to switch to their respective user.

As of now, the product is not usable for us, our musical tastes differ vastly and we really don’t want to mix up our listening preferences.

Please consider an investigation of this issue, I am happy to support you with more detailed information if needed. The app is not usable for us as of now :frowning:

You’ve been running into a temporary IP block, probably because you did a lot of changes today to your account. Let it sit a few hours, then try again.

Unfortunately the error remains, I also tested it just now on my Linux PC.

What else can I do?

Does this only happen with Plexamp or also with other client types?

I inspected the user accounts further, they where missing access to one of the libraries, which happens to be the one used in plexamp. The webapp uses all libraries, so the switch just works.

So in short, if a profile can not access the library that is selected in plexamp, the app just crashes and loggs you out. Kind of makes sense :smiley:
