Hi guys,
I just purchased a plex lifetime sub. I am sharing the library with my sister and when she downloads the plex app, it comes up to an upgrade window saying she needs to subscribe or activate. Does she need to pay the 4.99 before she can sign in and use the app without restriction, or does the plex subscription not apply to shares? Thanks and love plex
Plexpass is tied to your plex account.
Your sister will need to purchase the app unlock, only for mobile apps.
The mobile app unlock is a one time cost, that is tied to the App Store it is purchased from.
In other words, apple unlocks mobile apple devices.
Android store unlocks android mobile devices.
Unlock is not required for non mobile clients like TVs, web browser, streaming devices, etc.

If she wants to try plex without the unlock, she can use the mobile browser on the phone.
It won’t be quite as nice as the app, but will give an idea of if she will like it.
