[iOS/tvOS] library update button

As subject: library update button for both iOS & tvOS app.

Currently one has to update the libraries manually from a browser (when you want to watch something that needs scanning). Would be nice to have an option to update the libraries on demand.

Unless this already available, I couldn’t find it.

There are so many options to update library automatically. Have you tried any of those?
Many download clients can trigger library update as well.

And yet I have to see a working “automatic” option. Folder changes are not detected (in my setup).

If your Plex servers storage is remote the automatic options don’t tent to work accept for the scheduled scans.

I think the request is valid.

Setting library update interval as low as 15 min isn’t good enough?

In the interim, there’s an existing workaround, which is the Library Updater channel, which allows you to initiate a full library or per section update through any Plex client that supports channels (which includes iOS and tvOS).

This is what I used to use, combined with scheduled updates, before the automatic updater came into existence.

Hope this helps!

too much content to scan so often.

edit- cannot find this channel, was part of the unofficial appstore, no longer online.

This would be more useful in a decicated server app, but also in the player apps, so +1.

Early 2021 clean-up: implemented (clients can trigger Scan library files)
