iPad player not connecting to Plex Media player on Synology disk station

For some bizarre reason my Plex player app on my iPad refuses to connect to my media server. I can connect to the server just fine if I use the web app on that same iPad but the app itself always says the server is offline.

Maybe it has to do something with the setup of my network.
I have a Ubiquity Unifi Security Gateway 3P which has a hard connection to my Synology NAS and which is connected to 3 Unifi AP-AC-Pro access points. Everything is on the same network though.

I also have a Rasperry-Pi with PiHole installed and this is serving as the DNS server. I connect straight to the local IP address of the Plex server though so this should not pose a problem.

I also get the message on the server that it is not reachable from outside my network. But that should not be a problem either since I’m trying to reach it from within my network.

Any idea what may be going on?

Deleting and reinstalling the app on my iPad did the trick.
