Is anyone else experience weird issues on resuming playback?

Haven’t run full tests yet to see what the common pieces are yet, but last night I ran into an issue where when resuming a move (m4v) on the Roku (Roku 3, latest official channel) from the latest Plex Pass PMS on Ubuntu, there was audio, but no video (just black).

Starting from the beginning was/is fine, but resume, or even seeking results in audio with no video. PlexWeb seems fine/unaffected…haven’t tried Android yet.

Seems to me it shouldn’t be a codec issue if it plays at all, so can anyone else think of anything I should try/test in order to narrow this down? (Or has anyone else experienced this?)

Sounds familiar to http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/222728/black-screen-after-fast-forward. We haven’t been able to reproduce the issue locally to troubleshoot it.

If you can replicate the issue can you provide the following?

  1. Roku Logs
  2. Server logs
  3. Video source (via a PM)

you got it. I’ll try and replicate and pull logs tonight.

Update: now it works fine. Because of course it does. :))

I will be sending details to ljunkie when/if it comes up again…but weirdly enough all I did between it not working & working was restart the PMS service & let Ubuntu install some seemingly unrelated patches

This happened last night while we were watching a movie. About halfway in the picture froze and but the audio kept going. I assumed our TV crashed (yes, the software running sometimes crashes and the video freezes, it shuts off, turns on, then continues) But this time it wasn’t the TV. We stopped playback, backed out of the movie, came back in and the audio wasn’t sync’d with the movie. Repeated the backing out and it worked until the end.

I checked the PMS logs and saw nothing. I’m suspecting a wireless issue between PMS and Roku3.

Mine’s hardwired…so that’s not the issue (both PMS & Roku 3 are hardwired).

I’ll get logs pulled & sent in when/if I see it happen again.
