Is it just me or does the Plex client have serious issues on the Nvidia Shield?

Before I start uploading logs and really digging into this, is playback on the Shield known to be problematic?

In my bedroom, I’ve been using an Apple TV (non-4K version) for well over a year. I started having more and more problems with the Apple TV just locking up or Plex not launching so I decided to switch it out for the Shield.

Got the new’ish Shield (tube one) and hooked everything up and made sure the OS and Plex were updated and away I went.

I immediately started having problems where playback would just freeze or I’d get errors about the server not being strong enough. (Server is using an i7 7700K, plenty of RAM and there was nobody else streaming at the time.) I tried enabling the experimental player and no difference.

The Shield is hooked up via 802.11AC and when using the Plex add-on in Kodi, there are zero problems. So this leads me to think the issue is strictly with the Android version of Plex on the Shield.

Known problem?

For any playback related issues, don’t forget to add the tag #playback, it makes things much easier to find! :slight_smile:
