Is ther any hope of bit-streaming passthrough of DTS-HD / TrueHD / Atmos?

Love what I’m seeing out of the latest betas. I’m seeing less transcoding of audio done on the server, and more done on the AppleTV locally.

My receiver isn’t clear about what it’s getting, or I haven’t looked in the right place. Denon x2300W. Just says “multi-in”…

Are you now able to now decode the DTS-HD on the AppleTV and send uncompressed, e.g. LPCM? or having to do a extra conversion and go to AC3 first?

That’s multi-channel PCM.

I’ve a Denon 4300H. It shows Multi In on the display when an attached device sends multi-channel PCM audio.

Edit:
From the 4300H manual:

This is a “known” issue with Apple TV 4thgen and 4K. It will always decode audio to LPCM multichannel. Seems to have been remove in tvOS 11.3 and higher.
