There is an issue with Home Users and Downloads. Many people complain about syncing and how downloads aren’t downloading the correct episodes. When someone streams an episode, the downloads don’t register that the episode has been watched and don’t auto-download the next episode. The issue seems to actually be with Home Users. When a Home User tries to sync their downloads, the app seems to fetch the watch status from the main admin user, and not the Home User they’re downloading for. Here’s a walkthrough. To start, you need a show with multiple seasons. For the main Plex admin, watch Season 1. For the Home User, watch seasons 1 and 2.
What one expects: when downloading the next 10 episodes as the home user, the app should download episodes 1-10 of Season 3.
What happens: the app downloads episodes 1-10 of Season 2.
This is because the app isn’t looking at the correct user for the watch status.
Currently I have to download the entire show, then mark seasons as unwatched just to get this feature to somewhat work.
It’s like the app has some weird cache of watched and unwatched episodes.
