I have just begun using the DVR feature. I’ve recorded a few episodes of various shows for testing with success. However, WLiiA doesn’t appear in my TV Shows library. I suspect it may be due to media guide info, naming, and TVDB.
On the filesystem, the files are named “Whose Line Is It Anyway (2013) - S04E09 - Tamara Mowry-Housley.mkv”. This is done by the DVR.
When I manually renamed a file to a format that TVDB likes, the episode appeared in my TV library. An example is “Whose Line is it Anyway S13E01.mkv”.
The difference that I see is that TVDB lists WLiiA as one show with 13 seasons that began in 1998. The DVR is naming the current episodes as a new series that began in 2013.
I hate to bump this, but it seems like a bug. Has anyone else had this happen? I’m trying to use Plex DVR as intended. I can see the recording in the Recording Schedule and can play it from there. But it does not appear in my TV library as my other shows do like the Simpsons.

I’ve had a problem with the Year after the name on a couple of series but otherwise it matches up. I’ve been slowly renaming all my media to match the documentation. That has been a task.

Thanks for the suggestion, but this is actually incorrect. Plex uses tvdb.com. There is no show called “Whose Line Is It Anyway (2013)” on tvdb.com. The episode should be named “Whose Line Is It Anyway - S12E09 - Tamara Mowry-Housley.mkv”.
Notice how yours includes “2013” in the series name and labels it as season 4? Compare it to here: http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=76808&seasonid=659850&lid=7.
Whose Line is it Anyway took a hiatus for many years. When it came back it had a different host and was on a different network. TVDB still lists it as the same show, while Plex’s DVR is naming it as a new show.
The problem is the DVR uses Gracenote for metadata but the library uses TheTVDB for metadata. So as soon as you record an episode and it gets scanned the metadata will be wrong. Plex needs to add the ability to use Gracenote for the library metadata as well not just the DVR.
