Issue with metadata in Spanish, keep it in English

Hello
I’m having a weird issue with languaje and metadata.

Sometimes (not always) when I add a film or a TV show metadata is in Spanish (Spain) and it’s OK (library default languaje) but sometimes metadata is in English, even when it’s shown in Spanish before selecting it.

If I go to edit → advanced and select manually Spanish in metadata languaje it doesn’t work, and metadata keeps in English,
BUT  if I select Spanish (México) it works fine and metadata and info is displayed in Spanish.

My question is if Spanish and Spanish (México) metadata are the same or not, and why is this happening (witchcraft, ghost in the machine  )

I’m using as scanner Plex TV series and Plex movie

Thanks :vulcan_salute:

Edit: In libraries I have disabled (not checked) use local files and local metadata

Edit2: happened with this show and some films, as I said, it only occurs with a few items

Look on TheMovieDB.org if the movie or show in question actually has metadata in your language.

Yep, it appears in Spanish (I see it in spanish without changing languaje and anything in the web)

Vista general

Could you copy the first ~20 lines from the Plex XML info of an affected video and paste them in here?

Can you tell if only the show’s summary is affected or are there also english episode titles and episode summaries?

Also, keep in mind that edits at TheMovieDB.org don’t become available in Plex immediately.
The Spanish translations for Reacher were only added on February 4th.
Changes take ~48 hours to propagate to Plex.

Just wait a few days, then Refresh Metadata of the affected show(s).

Hello,
Same in other language in fact. I have similar issues with Russian and Hebrew. Some genres are never localized. Such as Action, Adventure, Biography - I always have them in English only.
I assume that Plex Movie agent is collecting genres data from several sources not only TMDB and one of them is not being translated.

Attaching xml metadata for one of the movie in the library:
3235.zip (15.4 KB)

As you can see there are three genres in the file’s metadata (SciFi, Action, Adventure), while on TMDB - only two: Action and SciFi.
