Issue :

There seems to be a problem where PMS wont tune some channels intermittently with an HDHomeRun Prime. At first I thought this was a cable provider issue with the cablecard and or subscription problem with specific channels. However, by switching to the native SiliconDust HDHomeRun Player app, it becomes clear that the channels that cannot be tuned in Plex (using the PMS or any Plex client) are in fact fully functional, ie can be tuned. The HDHomeRun app just grabs network tuners indiscriminately so in order to isolate the correct HDHomeRun Prime for testing I had to turn off the other tuners. Again it is verified that the channels that Plex cannot tune are fully functional.

The Synology DS1815+ uses the HDHomeRun Prime IP Address: xxx.xxx.1.66 tuner exclusively.

The QNAP TS-451+ uses the HDHomeRun CONNECT Quatro IP Address: xxx.xxx.1.47 exclusively.

The second HDHomeRun Prime IP Address: xxx.xxx.1.58 is dedicated for use with a HTPC that does not use Plex in any way.

A channel that may not tune in Plex may tune properly a day or so later in Plex. That is where the intermittent nature of the problem comes in.

I can provide logs if needed and any other info upon request. I haven’t looked at the Plex logs myself, admittedly I wouldn’t even know what I was looking for in said logs.

I first noticed this issue a while ago but possibly mistook it for an issue where the scheduled recordings were being dropped.

If it is a problem introduced in the last 3 or 4 versions of PMS I can try an older version to see if that provides some relief.
