I previously ran my Plex server on a Windows PC and my PS5 had no issue detecting the server. Recently, I swapped to a more complete setup on my Mac with more storage and it is always on and I have run into an issue where my PS5 is unable to detect the server. I tried to setting DNS manually to 8.8.8.8 change, I signed out and signed in, I uninstalled and re-installed the app and nothing is working.
I have also noticed that remote access Plex says is not working, but I set it up on my router with UPnP and can access the server via the remote IP. It starts as green and then like 30 seconds later goes away.
I’m suspecting something is going on that is blocking some sort of polling or handshake to the server and it is the cause of both the PS5 and remote access issues, but I’m not sure what might be going on. The local firewall on the Mac is disabled and the PS5 is wired into the same network as the Mac.
Please help me resolve these issues.
