Not sure if this is reported already but I having issues when I add music to my library when the artists has - or ’ in the artist name. Examples: a-ha, Lil’ Kleine. If you need more information please let me know!

I had never issues before with this folder structure.
Artist name/Album/Tracks
Artist name --> a-ha
Album --> (1985) Hunting High and Low - Album
Tracks --> a-ha - Hunting High and Low - 101 - Take on Me.Mp3
I’d remove the - Album suffix from the album folder name
Make sure that those files have (correct) meta tags embedded in them.
Okay, to note the - Album suffix gives no issues with other artists.
They are tagged with MusicBrainz data.
Could you detail the kind of issues you have?
The album of the artist is not recognized so there is no match thus no metadata and cover art. Clear enough?

I already tried but to be sure I did tried again in the order of the linked post. No success.
I added a new artist “Daryl Hall & John Oates” This artist has & in the artist name and it also is no recognised / matched.
And did you verify that user account plex has at least ‘read’ privileges to these files and folders?
I use Plex on unRAID (container) so the directories has owner:group nobody:users and permissions are 777. This is working with other artists fine.
It seems when adding artists with a - (dash), & (Ampersand), ’ ( apostrophe) in the artist name the problems starts.
Take the dash out of the file names but leave it in the tags maybe.

I don’t have a-ha or H&O artists. I grabbed two tracks of each. I scanned and then tagged the mp3 files using Picard. I then renamed them and their parent directories exactly like the OP did, minus the - Album. I dropped them into my QNAP PMS-1.16.6. I used a manual scan of all libraries.
And I can’t recreate the problem.
Does the OP have Local Media Assets checked and first on the Agent list of for both Artist > LastFM and Album > LastFM?

Yes I have the settings enabled you referring to.
Artists already added to the library with a - Dash or ’ ( apostrophe) are okay. So it seems to problems started no to long ago… I only have the issue with new artists…
I read once where each agent has a cache on the PMS.
I think there’s an article about clearing it. Might be worth a try
to clear the lastfm cache. You can also generate some Log Files.

Tried what you suggested but it didn’t help. I have the impression there is a bug somewhere but I’m not sure where the problem lies. The question is is it Plex related or has it something to do with the Docker container or maybe unRAID…
It could be a bug, sure, but it’s a bit difficult to reproduce atm. We’d need some logs.
Can you give some guidance in which log to look?
