Issues with new app

Hi

I have both the iOS app and android app:

  • samsung S24 ultra, plex app version 2025.15.0 (966828394)
  • apple ipad pro (ipad8,1), plex app version 2025.15.0 (1053)

Both experiences are overall laggy, but important issues that i currently noticed are:

  • random restart of episodes
  • the android app is unable to play episodes with VOBSUB subtitles and proceeds with the following error: “Error Occurred Unexpected runtime error”

Overall the experience with the new app is bad. The old app was just fine and didn’t require any overhaul.

additionally: when playing a playlist the plex app plays the next episode in the season, not the next episode in the playlist

Same here. The new mobile app for Android has a lot of issues:

  • won’t play old video formats (Ex: Buck Rogers)
  • won’t load ASS subtitles and other non SRT formats
  • shows utf-8 errors on some subtitles

None of these issues exist on the previous version. I’ve downgraded and everything is fine.
