Items Falling Off EPG Before DVR Can Record Them

@matterpro would need logs covering time period the Brooklyn Nine-Nine should have recorded. As far as the screenshots the dates you are showing are different for the agenda versus calendar view. Please verify you are looking at the same dates for both views.

I just made that same mistake. Didn’t realize the Agenda view started back in the past quite a ways.

Agh! Stupid dates not matching up!!! Disregard what I thought was helpful. It’s a theme for me.

@johnm_ColaSC I’ll try to grab you logs the next time it happens. Unfortunately I didn’t catch it until after it was supposed to air and I restarted the server, logs started over.

So far, I’ve been sailing smoothly, and new episodes have been recording successfully this week. My most problem child, Living Biblically recorded as expected. I still need to review other shows to be 100% sure I didn’t miss anything, but so far, so good.

Would we tend to agree that this is more likely an external data issue? And not so much something Plex has done?

It went off the rails last night again. New episode of Superstore aired at 7pm on NBC (channel 36.1 locally). But despite showing as an upcoming recording in preceding days, the day of it disappeared from the now playing, coming up, the recording schedule and obviously did not get recorded.

Logs attached…

@matterpro logs only go back to 3/23 @ 07:42 am so do not cover the time period of the recordings from last night.

@johnm_ColaSC how can I make sure the logs go back further than a few hours?

I am having this issue as well. Yesterday I checked my recording schedule and I showed a scheduled recording for the Simpsons and for Brooklyn 99 tonight. Today I checked again and they have disappeared. I checked the series info for each of these shows and they don’t show an airing for tonight at all. I checked other series that air at the same time and none of them show an airing for tonight either. It appears that guide info for 7-8pm Central is missing for me. Interestingly, movies or shows that last longer than the 7-8pm window still show, like American Idol. I have tried refreshing the EPG multiple times, but no luck. Maybe the provider has an issue on their end???
Other recordings are working as expected. I think if these shows were in the guide, they would record as expected.

I believe all of my issues have fallen into the 7-8pm window as well.

Strange. I think all of mine are in that window as well.
Here are screenshots of past recording days. over the last three weeks nothing recorded in the 7-8pm timeslot, but recorded just fine before and after.

But 4 weeks ago it was fine. Something clearly happened after March 9th with the EPG or Plex’s handling of it.

This is absolutely the same issue I’m having over here in Milwaukee, WI, USA, and why I hopped on the forum. It’s only been happening in the last few weeks. I can confirm that the episodes are scheduled to be recorded, but then they disappear from the agenda and don’t record. The Middle, The Goldbergs, Brooklyn Nine Nine… they’re just not recording at all.

I really hope Plex can figure out how to fix this. It has been a real bummer to deal with, as this is a great way to build a “legit” library of shows. All syndicated programming (i.e., on syndicated networks and almost always not during prime time hours) are recording flawlessly.

I have had this same issue with DC’s Legends of Tomorrow on CW (CH33-1) for the last 3 weeks, nothing but new episodes have aired and they have been on the recording schedule on Sunday nights but by monday morning, the airing for 7PM on Monday Nights is gone with only the next weeks episode showing as upcoming.

I also have the same issue, with a 8pm timeslot (DST!)

Same issue here. MST 6:30 fails to record Jeopardy even though its a new episode. Also my EPG is acting very strange.

Any plex ninjas that can help escalate this?

@johnm_ColaSC has a ticket submit to the devs about the issue.

awesome

FWIW, I am having the same issue with new shows dropping off the schedule with an update right before broadcast, when they had been there before. Instinct premiere, Deception premiere, Roseanne premiere, and now Supernatural last night. This is getting frustrating. Episodes next week are listed as scheduled, but I had Instinct drop off two weeks in a row, so that’s no guarantee. I reported Supernatural here, as requested elsewhere on the forum:

If the EPG still has them listed in the schedule, I would go into settings an disable auto-updates of the EPG. This will keep them there and should have them record. Then just update manually when you get close to the end of scheduled recordings and hope for the best when it updates. Lets hope in the next few decades they will get around to fixing it.
