I have been trying to get Plex up and running on my PC for about a month now, with no luck.
I have tried both Chrome and Firefox. I have now tried using the Plex Media Server with the Windows 10 app, and neither have worked.
I get the same message each time when I click on “Your Media”
All Plex programs have been white-listed in Windows Firewall.
I’m honestly lost with what else to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you run through the setup wizard after setting up Plex?
How did you access the web app the first time after you installed Plex?
If you click on the settings icon in the top right area of the web app (screw driver and wrench icon) and then scroll down on the left under the manage section do you see an option that says Library? If you do, click on that and on the right side you should be able to Add Library.
You can following instructions from here:
Im in the same boat. cant access the setting for the server.
Media server is instaled and when i click on it in the start menu it brings me to a page that is for a non server device. can we get help with this?
OK. I had this problem today. It seems to be a re-currant problem and nobody seems interested in fixing it.
What has everyone moved to?
In my case the word ‘Library’ occurs nowhere at all in any dialog at all.
Same problem. WD MyCloud EX2: “Get Plex Media Server” is the response when clicking on “Your Media” This is a recent issue. Up to a few days ago, everything was working fine since 2015.
I get something similar, " A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server." I have made changes to the registry, uninstalled and reinstalled the Server, but cannot get Plex to find and communicate with the Server without getting above statement.
Same. I have used plex for years, but all of a sudden when I click “your media” I get prompted that i need to install plex media server, but I have installed multiple times (never uninstalled from when it was working). Doesn’t seem like anyone wants to fix this problem. Going to uninstall.
This problem seems to be related to having previously run a Plex Media Server on the same device, uninstalling it, and then reinstalling PMS again as a new server under a new login name. It seems that uninstalling the PMS doesn’t clean up the registry and logging in with the new login while having the previous credentials in the registry is what is causing the conflict.
The solution that worked for me (running Windows 10) was to delete (or rename) these two registry entries:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Plex, Inc.
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\plex.tv
(the plex.tv entry may not be necessary but it doesn’t hurt anything)
.
Or you can try doing this first, since I believe the problem is that the registry data just has the wrong email address associated with the new server. (I have not tested this, but this is a safer thing to try first if you are not familiar with regedit.)
Try changing the email address in these two registry locations:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server\PlexOnlineMail
and
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server\PlexOnlineUsername
