I just did a fresh windows install and redownloaded Plex Media Server. It downloaded fine, but I can’t get into my library. The only thing in my tab is “+Your Media” then it tells me to download Plex Media Server (Which I already have installed)
Usually, when I install the windows exe, it’ll prompt me to make a new server, but now it just opens Plex in Chrome and I’m back to a Home screen that doesn’t have my library.
I tried signing out and back in, but it didn’t change anything. I even tried to sign up a new account to see if it’ll prompt me to make a new server, but it still doesn’t.
Any information will be appreciated and thank you in advance for the help.
Make sure you’re opening the new server using the bundled version of Plex Web.
If you’re on the same machine, you can use http://127.0.0.1:32400/web for that. If this is a new machine / new server, this should bring up the setup wizard where you can name your server and link it to your Plex account (also create your first libraries). After linking the server to your account, you can access it from other Plex apps.
If you had previously installed a Plex Media Server on that machine using a different account, you might need to unlink the old server before being able to access it.
No need to do that.
You can have multiple servers linked to your account. You just need to finish the setup of this new one through the local connection.
The “why am I locked out” guide only applies if an old install on the same machine might still be associated with another Plex account.
