I’ve been using Plex for years. But yesterday, the latest iOS app now shows none of my media or files. It can see the media server (hosted on a Mac mini) but only shows me Plex streaming content.
Ona different device (an iPad) I can see my server as normal and cast to my tv. I can even control the cast from the device that won’t work, and view show details like season and episode info from whatever is playing.
Iv signed out. I’ve reinstalled the iOS app. I’ve removed my auth from the sever. Iv created a new user account - NOTHING works.
I’m having the exact same problem with Version 6.12 of the iOS app. I can see my server, but can’t access any of the content. The same problem on both iPhone and iPad.
I just restored my iPhone to an older back up (before it updated to the latest version) and it now works perfectly. I also turned off auto update as soon as I could.
Are you able to rollback one of your devices and try it??
instead of rolling things back, you might want to double-check you have the latest version of the Plex Media Server installed on your Mac (it appears some old version of PMS fails to notice updates which resulted in a number of users with a “latest version” of Plex that is 2.5 years old).
The current public version of the Plex Media Server as of yesterday is 1.19.3.
Log in to you media server and update the server it’s self.
For some reason I could not auto update (it was greyed out) so I manually downloaded the app, closed Plex, replaces the app with the new version , and it started up. I then logged out of the app and back in and voila - all my content.
My Plex server runs on FreeNAS. The release version is 11.2-RELEASE-p10, which appears to be the latest. I restarted it, but I still can’t access it on the iOS app (iPhone or iPad).
