Latest server (Windows) transcoding issues

Several playback issues have occurred after updating to the latest server version. The platform is a desktop computer. … and before you ask the only update before the issues was to the PMS - not the platform it is on or the players and their platforms.

  1. I am using the android player on a Sony TV (crap I know) but that has been able to play all files before latest server update. Now it gives a transcoder error for a specific file (let’s call that file A). It plays file B but can’t make sense of the length of the video so jumping hangs the player.

  2. Android player on my Samsung Galaxy has same issues.

  3. Web browser on a laptop to app.plex.tv does not play either file A or B. Infinite orange spinner on both.

Where can I get the previous version of the server for Windows and how do I downgrade without issue?

If you are wanting to reinstall an earlier version of plex on your server, those can be found in the plex updates folder in the directory that you installed plex on.

Thank you. I shall see if those help. Are there any recent registry settings I would need to edit or remove?
