Latter releases of Android TV app have introduced playbacks errors for files that previously played without issue

At some point within I would guess the last 5-10 Android TV app updates a problem seems so have been introduced that prevents a number of files in my pre-existing media library from playing successfully. These are files that would have direct played without issue before a somewhat recent update.

The file will not play using either the old or the new player and the error that is presented when using the new player is ‘An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again’. When using the old player the whole Plex app crashes back to the main menu.

The same behaviour is exhibited across multiple Android TV clients that I have, though the files do still direct play and play fine on Roku and in the web browser.

I attach the relevant section of the Android TV client log and would appreciate if anyone more knowledgeable than me about interpreting them ( a very low bar admittedly) could take a look to help try to fix the problem for me and maybe others too.

Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Looks like it’s the refresh rate switching option. You are playing a 50 fps file and the app can’t find a matching refreshrate so it is using 60 Hz and then the player fails to play at 60Hz. Turn off that setting.
