With the Plex webOS app, enabling PGS/VOBSUB subtitles results in a video transcode. If the audio is transcoding, enabling any type of subtitle results in a video transcode.

In addition to dts audio, TrueHD audio will be transcoded. Fortunately, movies released with TrueHD also include a Dolby Digital (AC3) audio track, so choose the AC3 audio track if possible.

Is the video transcoding when you enable subtitles? You can monitor playback via Plex Dashboard → Now Playing to see if the video or audio is transcoding. When enabling SRT subtitles, make sure the audio is not transcoding. This means avoiding TrueHD audio and possibly dts audio formats (LG recently dropped support for dts audio).
