LG smart TV - Flex and Hard Drive

Hello to Everyone.

New for this app. I just installed on an LG smart TV the Flex player. I have a Hard disk connected to the TV on a USB port that is working well.

Question: Can Flex access to this connected hard drive and play the movies on it? I am trying to find a software that can manage all my movies on this drive including maybe finding trailers and sort them by style and so on. Would Flex be ok to do this? How can I get it to read my hard disk? It seems that I can only access an IP.

I hope you mean Plex and Flex is just a typo…

And no, Plex app/client on the Samsung will not read off the local drive connected to the TV.

Plex is a streaming media solution, not a stand alone player. It requires the Plex Media Server installed (on a computer or NAS) which indexes your content in Plex Libraries. Then you use the Plex app/client on the device of your choice to stream your content from the Plex Media Server.
