USB Hard Drive Connections to LG TV

Hi,
Don’t know whether this is the right area for this query. However.
I have an LG 43UJ670V model tv.
I have connected a 1tb external hard drive to it.
I have installed Plex on the tv.
I have logged into my Plex account and have synced the tv to my account.
I now want to access the external hard drive so Plex will play my media files stored on there.
The problem is that the Plex menu doesn’t give me the option to access my hard drive - that I can find. It just gives me the standard set of tv and music channels.
I’ve gone into settings in Plex. There it’s asking me things like port addresses and suchlike. If that is relevant to this query, any ideas where I can get that info ?
So, 2 queries.

  1. Why can’t I see the hard drive files in Plex ?
  2. If accessing port numbers through the Plex settings is relevant to this query, where would I find these ?

Plex won’t access local media connected to the TV itself. Plex will only access Media managed through a Plex Media Server

In other words: you cannot run the Plex server on a TV.
The Plex app for TV is only a Plex client.
