I am not sure what the PLEX versions are on my LG smart TV’s
Hi everyone, I am new to this forum please excuse if my tagging will be off and belong to different category.
I have two LG smart TV’s models.
First 43UK6500AUA with Firmware 05.10.35
Second 60UH7700 with Firmware 05.30.60
I never had issue watching my movies streamed from my Synology NAS on the LG 43UK6500AUA before. But lately I have experienced something annoyingly strange. I am not longer able to watch majority of the movies on PLEX (when I play the movie it is all coded, no picture, just bunch of pixels, just sound) on the 43UK6500AUA TV. I thought, it has to be the LG TV firmware, well…not exactly true. I am able to to watch same exact movie on the LG player on that very same TV.
But what is even more strange, is the fact, that I am able to play the same movie without issues on my second TV 60UH7700 thru PLEX player. Same streaming hookup, from my Synylogy NAS.
I am really, really puzzled and annoyed that I am unable to watch the movies thru the PLEX player on the 43UK6500AUA.
Does anyone here experienced same issue as me, or something similar to it?
I would be really happy if this could be resolved.

I believe this has been reported in other discussions. The TV that is not playing your Titles I would go to Plex setting on that TV and turn of Direct Play for now and see if it will work with your NAS. It will trans code unfortunately but if your NAS can Trans code it’s only a workaround.
Otherwise a wait for a fix which is probably in the works

Got home, did the adjustment in settings…and I guess I have to wait for the fix. I have Synology 918+ and it seems the workaround isn’t the solution for my NAS…sigh…I really hoping they will fix this soon. Wonder if there is somewhere old version PLEX to downgrade. You think that would do the trick?

Remember the issue I had with the Smart LG TV? Well, I still do or have to run old version of PLEX on my Synology NAS, because it seems the issue hasn’t been fixed. I occasionally upgrade the old version and check the TV, but it does not work yet. Any suggestions please? Who can I contact or talk to from PLEX if anybody?

I do that, but so far that is not helping period. Every new version of PLEX app for Synology have the same exact issue. It is not decoding the movie as is should. Anything above version 1.17.0.1841-d42cfa161 cannot be watched. It is bit frustrating. I am testing every version so for above the 1.17. but no difference at all… I wish I could get the coders/developers attention somehow.
