Also have the same issue. Furthermore, I noticed that since I am forced to use the ChromeCast as an alternative, that it also stops showing subtitles there after around 30 minutes consistently.
Same issue for me on LG TV
Subtitles suddenly disappear during playing.
as a workaround I stop playing and resume and they get back again until disappear again.
Is there any update?
All the updates for the LG TV client are here : Plex for webOS 3.0+ (LG Televisions) - #77 by markus101
Anyway on my side, I still have problems with subtitles AND my japanese anime won’t load properly on VO and subtitled… Again, no issue on the Windows client version that works perfectly fine ![]()
No update regarding this problem yet?
Please, fix this ASAP! Very annoying! Regret already for buying plex pass as both server and client suffer from great amount of bugs after each update (especially after some unuseful “features” were implemented). Be ashamed as nothing great was done for pictures and music libs. Even the movies lacks some features…
I have both - Samsung (2021) and LG (2020) TVs and can confirm that issue still appear on both of them.
Before finding this tread i tried to reinstall TV apps, restart server load subtitles from both subtitle search and from local file - without any luck.
Guys, I know that You’re quite busy with data leak and stuff, but we’d really appreciate at least a version rollback - it is really difficult to watch with subtitles turning off randomly…
@sLumpy any news about this issue?
For many is Plex currently useless…
We are still waiting for an update guys ![]()
The issue still persist with the version 5.45.2
We’re still investigating the issue. It’s top of my priority right now, debugging on these devices are a PITA.
Anything we could help with?
I’ve found a possible fix, just getting it through some QA and will hopefully have a hotfix out this week.
Good news, thanks for the potential fix.
I hope that the future feature releases doesn’t break basic features.
Fix is now available in 5.45.3.
Thanks @sLumpy ,
I just quickly tested it and can confirm that the issue with subtitles not showing at the beginning is fixed.
I didn’t test it though, if the subtitles dropping while playback.
Thanks for the feedback @sLumpy unfortunately on Samsung Tizen OS 2020 and plex client 5.45.3 the subtitle still disappears.
Did a few tests here and I could replicate the error by start playing a video at the end, last ~10%, that way the subtitle would always drop after a minute or so…
Thanks @sLumpy it works great!! Again thanks for the quick and hard work.
Mine is also working again, thanks @sLumpy !!
I confirm that on my movies and tv shows everything is working fine…
But I still have some problems on my japanese anime on the LG TV Client as on the Windows Client, it works perfectly fine ![]()
But it’s a huge improvement, thanks for the fix
Keep up the good work ![]()
