SRT subtitles now appear, so that is fixed. What now happens to me is that the PGS subtitles only partially show and are slightly delayed if they appear. This does not happen on other devices.

Hi,
As others I’m able to confirm that subtitles are starting properly now.
Unfortunately the second issue is not fixed (SRT subtitles are still stop working during middle of the movie). From my experience workaround is going back to movie catalog and resuming it again.
For around 1 hour file the issue usually appear around 60-75% and second time few minutes before and of file.

Yes, this happened to me too. Last 15 minutes of a 1h episode were missing the subtitles

Just FYI - issue still exist (as of yesterday evening) - same as in “Subtitles Disappear on Samsung Tizen” post. Yesterday I needed to restart 1h episode 3 times…

Hey @sLumpy, I have a LG OLED55C11LB with the latest web OS 03.33.11, the latest Plex client 5.46.1, and the latest Plex Media Server 1.28.2.6151

Those fixes in the previous versions did not help me, an external .set subtitles are still disappearing randomly during the playback. But what I have noticed is that they are disappearing mostly near the end of the playback. Let’s say for example that playback is 1 hour long, then subtitles will then disappear from 40 minutes into the playback.

I really hope this could get fixed as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your support!

Is this a server update or an update to the clients only? I ask as I am having the same issue with disappearing subtitles when using the web client.

I am pretty sure it’s for the client’s future release that is still not ready. The last client release was 08.09.2022.
We all hope the problem will be really finally fixed with this future release!

To add to the discussion (haven’t updated yet) I noticed a pattern on the disappearing subtitles:

  • It only happens on media files with more than one external .srt subtitles (most of mine have 2 or 3 in different languages);
  • It happens regularly at the midpoint of the file (i.e., at 25’00" for a 50 minute video, at 12’30" for a 25 minute episode, etc), and then on the next midpoints. It’s so mathematically consistent (fails at 1/2, then in the last 1/4, then in the last 1/8, then in the very last 1/16 of each episode) it’s uncanny;
  • Apart from rewinding a few seconds, changing the subtitle track to other external file and then putting the original one again (hence forcing plex to reopen the .srt file) also works to fix

Hello,

This issue is seen on my end every single time I stream my content. The subtitles will disappear multiple times during viewing, forcing to select another subtitle track and then selecting back the former one.

This is really annoying, is there any update on this?
