LG WebOS app subtitles screw up on tv series

Server Version#: 1.20.2.3402
Player Version#: LG Early Access

So, for the last week I’ve been having this issue on my LG C9. I’m not sure if this is related to the app in LG or the server but when watching a series, if you skip to the next episode or let it run through the previous subtitle will leak into the next episode. I have to go back to the season menu and start the episode again and it will be fine, this happens for every episode and I’ve recorded a video illustrating this.

Can this be looked at and fixed please?

Any help? This keeps happening… it makes watching a series unbearable as every time you skip to the next episode or it auto-plays the next one you have to go back and re-select said episode…

Server version: 1.20.3.3430

Same problem for me with LG 65C9. I even need to kill the PLEX app (keep back button pressed for a few secs) before it releases the subtitle buffer from memory.

Binging with subs is quite annoying now.
Using XPlay more again to be able to continue watching…

How is XPlay in comparison?

It’s really annoying how things just keep breaking and then there’s very lack of recognition for such bugs.

I’ve used XPlay mainly with TrueHD media. As it just Direct Plays it as Dolby Digital (as the TV can do that internally, don’t know why the PLEX official client doesn’t do that, response from devs was that it was by design).
Sadly XPlay is not maintained anymore, so new features are missing like ‘Skip Intro’. But overall it works quite ok.

Just saw yet another bug, so apart from subtitles from the previous episode leaking into the current one, sometimes subtitles just don’t show at all, leaving the episode and opening it again fixes it but it’s either of those 2 bugs that happen whenever you autoplay the next episode or manually press the “forward” button to go to the next ep

There is another report of this bug that has a response from a Plex employee: "Up Next" Completely disables subtitles and even downloading new ones won't enable them
