A similar topic has just been automatically closed but I still have problems with subtitles with the latest versions for both the server and the player.
When playing series with external (.srt) subtitles via the LG WebOS Plex app, subtitles randomly stops showing at some point. It happens usually once per episode, mostly a few minutes before the end. But it can also happen multiple times in the whole of the episode.
Anyway subtitles always work at the beginning but when progressing they just vanish. Then I can switch off/on subtitles in the player to make them appear again.
FYI, I first noticed this issue about last summer I would say. I used to have other (and even more annoying) issues with subtitles. But since they are all fixed now but this one, I feel like it happens more frequently than at the beginning.
Any news about this? This problem is mostly annoying!! I have to switch off and on subtitles at least 2 to 3 times per episodes lately… Please do something.
Hey all. New to this forum. Specifically due to this issue.
Since the update last fall I have been having the same issues of Plex-subs stopping on my LG.
It is very much annoying, does anyone have a good fix yet?

Having the same issue. While watching an episode, suddenly the subtitle vanish, switch off and on, it comes back, but happens very randomly. using latest plex server and webOS plex app version. I only have problem with my LG, the other players in other devices no problem. I have a LG65C9PUA.
Reporting a similar issue here, but subtitles are not longer showing in the Plex for LG app, regardless if is a local subtitle, external or the format (idx, srt, sub).
I also get the error “There was a problem selecting the stream for this item.” when I:
Choose an external subtitle (from OpenSubtitles) in the Plex web interface.
Play the media in the TV, and choose Settings > Subtitles and set it to “None”.
Select the desired subtitle once again as an attempt to reload it inside the app.
After the error, the subtitle even disappears from the available subtitles to choose from in the PMS interface or other Plex apps.
When I try the steps above using a local subtitle, there’s no error, it just doesn’t display any subtitle at all. Subtitles work in all other apps and web interface.
I also reinstalled the Plex for LG app, but it didn’t solve the issue.
