"Up Next" Completely disables subtitles and even downloading new ones won't enable them

When an episode ends and you select the next via the “Up Next” the subtitles get disabled and you can’t turn them on. You select a different subtitle and still nothing appears. You download a new one and doesn’t appear.

Workaround: Don’t press Up Next and go back to library, then to the Show and select the next episode from there normally. On Deck also seems to work.
It looks like only the Up Next tile does something weird and breaks subtitles.

Hi, This is a known issue being looked into. I don’t have an ETA on a fix though.

No it’s not. I still have some problem with that on my LG OLED65C9. When o choose select subtitle it doesn’t show anything.after while is start show, but its a pain. Need to do a juggling with each episode of a show. I started to have this problem with the 5.3.1

what you are describing is not the problem this forum topic is about. Which is specifically about the auto play/up next feature.
