Server Version#: 4.47.3 up to date
Player Version#: 2.2.0 up to date (Plex app for Smart TVs - from LG CONTENT STORE last update for the app from Plex is on 17/03/2020)

LG webOS TV UJ620V (Software Version 05.80.65 up to date) player working flawlessly until maybe 1-3 weeks.

Now displays a message >

Server is my computer.
Both on same network.

Other apps on Android also with the same problem.

Re-Booted TV - No help.
Re-Install TV app - No help.
Switch to Wi-Fi - No help.

Other apps are working fine like YouTube, HBO GO, Netflix and so on.

Please go to your Server settings /Authorised devices and forward the correct WebOS Client Version and your Plex Media Server version.

Do you have access to your LG WebOS settings?

Plex Media Server version 1234
WebOS Client Version - 3.8.0-61315

That looks like the WebOS version, not the Plex app version.

Authorized Devices is at https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/devices/other.

You should see something like:

The current version of the LG Plex app is 5.6.1, released on Nov 24. You should have it, since you removed & re-installed, but always nice to confirm.

One other thing to try is turning off the TV, then removing power for ~30 seconds. That completely clears running/background apps from the TV memory. Somewhat like shutting down a PC versus putting it to sleep. Try it once. It will either help or not. I’ve had my LG for 3 years. I’ve had to pull the plug maybe twice. You mentioned rebooting PC in your OP. Not sure if that meant removing from AC power.

Btw I tried to stop it for 1 min AC power (i even factory reset the TV and download everything )
PC plugged off the AC power also nothing changed (sleeping mode on PC is on “Never”, it’s on 24/7 for now)

Do have access to the Plex TV app settings?

I have zero access to the Plex TV app, when I start the app it shows that

OK, just checked if you Tv is a UHD model, all Good there( HD models are no longer supported). Go to you Plex Server Network settings

Enter Your Router LAN IP address/24, like the one I have attached. Save and restart your Router,TV, computer.

In your Router- Reserve / make static your Server LAN IP address. This should stop any network confusion.

In your Server Network settings you must have Secure connections - Preferred ( Nothing Else)

That’s my TV - it’s not UHD ?

ULTRA means UHD or are you saying it’s not 4K

It is 4K that’s my tv on the link.

All good it is supported. Follow those instructions to sort your network out. Your TV can not find your server for some reason, Reserving addresses stops other devices jamming up that address.

Can you sort them again, please. I don’t want to mess up the instructions =]

Firstly do you know your Server LAN IP address?

Do you know how to login to your Router?

Yes, I have also access to my Router via App (asus)

Find your computer IP address from there and make it static

I’ve an ASUS RT-AC68U. If yours is similar, the settings are in LAN -> DHCP Server.

Select your Plex Server from the “Client Name (MAC Address)” dropdown list. It should add the current IP Address automatically. You can add a DNS server if desired. Then click on the Apply button.

That looks like the ASUS router phone app.

Can you login to the router via a web browser from a desktop/laptop?

The address should be something like: https://192.168.1.1:8443/Main_Login.asp

Edit: You can assign a static IP address via the app.

  1. Settings -> LAN -> IP Binding -> IP Binding List
  2. Tap on + in the upper right corner.
  3. Choose Select by Device List
  4. Find your server in the device list. Tap on it.
  5. You’ll see a “IP Binding” window with the current IP address of your server. Tap on OK in the bottom of the window.
  6. You should now see your server listed in the IP Binding List.

I think that Asus defaults to 192.168.50.x for its network, unless you go in and manually change it to your config.
