When trying to load the plex app on an LG webos smart TV, app says network error-337. TV is verified online on same network, can even play media from the plex dnla server. I can ping the TV from the plex server. It occasionally loads and works with no problem until I exit the app. Need help!
Got the lg TV connected, checked the console and got this error:
Unable to find Client profile for device;
Platform=webos, platformversion= 4.1.0, device=, model=55uk6090pua
Thanks for that, but my issue is intermittent loading of the plex app from my lg TV. Every other device on my network connects with no problem, and the lg TV works fine when it does come on.
Same problem for me on LG C8. It was working fine and now wont load the plex app at all, i just get the same error as OP. Every other device works fine and the tv even finds the plex server via dnla through inputs so it must be a problem with the app surely?
Yes I have the same problem for a month or so now. Sometimes it loads mostly not, with the above error. I thought properly exiting PLEX each time may have fixed the problem, but still happening.
I have an LG OLED65C8PTA TV running Web OS 04.10.15.
My LG Plex client app is version 2.1.6 from Sep 2016
Plex server is on my QNAP NAS and at version 1.13.5.291 from Sep 2018
This also seems to be an issue on my LG tv too, same app version and TV OS also. The Plex app was fussy at the best of times, now it’s given up completely
I’ve found that loading plex up on my android phone then trying with my TV seems to get it loaded. Perhaps this info could be helpful to the devs, but I’m at a total loss.
I just verified again, starting a stream from the android plex app. then trying with the TV causes it to start working. Could this be an authentication issue? I’ve added the TV to my list of author. Devices, and opened up the lan ip and entire subnet. I’ve also set allow secure connection to preferred or whatever
Ya i got 2 lg tvs 2 diff series same year 2018 and i have the same error. If i restart the server connects pretty much right away. But I would say 70% of the time it doesn’t work. I have chrome cast tablets phones and 1 roku tv no issues.
I’ve been seeing this error on my two LG sets more and more in the last week or so. As a workaround I disabled IPv6 on my TVs’ advanced network settings and it seems to have improved. I’ve not had chance to do any proper testing to see if this is actually the root cause, but you may want to give it a try and see if it makes things better for you…
(As an aside, I’ve had a few different issues with IPv6 and PMS over the last few months. The official line is that Plex doesn’t support IPv6, but their solution to issues involving IPv6 seems to be to turn it off for your whole network, rather than fixing their issues )
same. 75SK8070PUA, webOS 4.1.0. tried uninstalling & reinstalling the app. i did just move my server to a new server…but web / android / etc works fine, internet works fine on the tv, i should be seeing shared libraries even if mine was borked…
edit: i temporarily turned off Quick Start+ in general settings then turned the tv off and on again. started working. maybe it was the reboot, or maybe they were having some kind of server-side issue.
Just wanted to follow up on my previous post: I’ve not seen the webOS network errors reappear at all, or the slow PMS login, since disabling IPv6 on my TVs. I don’t have the time to sit and packet capture this to prove the two are connected at the moment, but it’s working for me for now.
Hey Gary, I had also tried disabling IPV6 on my TV and also manually setting DNS to 1.1.1.1 rather than my router however I found no change… still receiving the same error just as often so it seems that’s not the root cause, at least not in my case.
Guys, i’m using a OLED65B8 without any of these issues. But having said that I do have the following settings.
Server is MacOS Mojave 10.14.5
PMS: 1.15.5.994-4610c6e8d
Router: Reserved / Static LAN IP of TV and Server
PMS: Preferred network interface Server LAN IP Address, not “ANY”, List of IP addresses and networks allowed without authorisation - “Netmask” address. Enable Local network discovery(GDM). IPv6 - “disabled”. Secure connections - “Preferred”
LG Client settings: Manual server IP address and port- entered
Main settings LG client: Allow fallback to insecure connections - Always
Prefer insecure connections- On same network as server.
