Plex is unable to start due to an error

Plex app is no longer start on My LG TV(WebOS 3.5 based)
I have used this tv over 1 year, Plex was okay for all period.
but from last week, It cannot start and show me the following screen.

I have tried:

  • Press “Reset Plex” Button
  • Remove app and reinstall
  • Remove app and remove main power and reinstall after power on.
  • Remove app and Reset the TV to Factory default and reinstall
  • Remove app and Firmware update TV and reinstall

But Plex app stopped at this screen all time.
Anyone can help me?

PS. other app was okay. I have tried android Plex App, IOS Plex App, Kodi Plex addon, XPlay on LG TV, Web base plex. All other app was okay. so I think, it was not server problem.

Please provide the TV model you’re using.

When you went through this step were you prompted to sign-in again or did it go immediately back to this error screen?

Is your TV connecting via a VPN or proxy to the internet?

TV model is LG AN-US800K. It is UHD TV box for Korean local usage.

Also I already did,

  • Remove app and reset the tv to factory default and reinstall.

But it still same problem.

If I start plex app.
Center aligned Plex logo is comes out for a while, then this problem shown. it take more then 30 seconds.
I cannot reach any other screen. I cannot see login screen.

No VPN connected. no proxy.
In Same TV, XPlay works perfectly.
In same network, Plex for <IOS, Windows, Android, Kodi with Plex add on> works perfectly.

I have the same problem on my LG TV and it’s also set to Korean all the other apps works on the tv except for Plex and Plex works for my on my other devices. Did a full rest on the TV and i cant even get to the log in screen on plex.

Did you Power off from the wall for a couple minutes, don’t use the remote and deleted the authorized device tile in your Plex Settings

I have did it already.
Remove wall power over night, and removed device in my plex setting.
But I cannot reach login screen in my TV.

A new app loader is available today that might resolve your issue

Interesting, I’m not familiar with those devices, but we’ve never tested the app on them and it’s not something we support at this time (same thing for the LG projectors).

The loader update was for webOS 5 certification, I wouldn’t expect it to make a difference on these set top devices.

But, suddenly it doesn’t connect any more.
see my play history. until 31 Jan 2020 it worked perfectly.

I have upgraded app version 2.2.0(released 17 Mar, 2020). It still same problems.

I don’t know why it’d stop working then, the closest update from us was 10 days prior.

The OP was 8 days ago, not everyone watches TV daily.

Their history screenshot shows them watching from Jan 26 - Jan 31st, 5 days after the update. Based on the error their device is using the v1 app, which wasn’t updated then, the last v1 update was done back in August 2019.

When I wrote this first, My Plex App version was v 2.1.0 and it was marked as august 2019 released.
Until 31 Jan, 2020 all function was ok, but next day, suddenly this problem was occurred

To find the correct Plex app version, visit authorised devices in Plex server settings. What your stating is a loader version.

Unfortunately, I already delete the device in authorized device section. because I have to tried to reset all situations.

If you were on Version 1 of Plex LG app, I would suggest to look at a box like a Roku Apple Tv, Shield. As it getting very little love these days. Been there, now I own a LG OLED, and life is really good.

my lg app was 2.1.0 and now 2.2.0
not working now.

That’s a loader version and it is supposed to talk to the Plex mothership and load Plex app, it is not doing that now.
