I am trying to add personal home videos to my plex server. I created a new library of “Other Videos” and selected the folder with the videos. After scanning the folder for files, the library shows as empty. Most of the files are mp4. I see some references about “Agents” but any changes I make do not seem to make a difference.
Any suggestions to resolve this?

Unfortunately none of those apply to my files. Thanks for your quick response. Do you think agents has anything to do with the issue?
I have separate folders for Movies and TV, for which I have been able to successfully add content. It just does not seem to work for Other Videos.
Please let me know if you have other solutions to consider.
Have you verified the share is configured so the system account used on Syno to run your server?
It seems to have the same permissions as the movies and tv folders.
The question isn’t if it has the same permissions (e.g. assigned to your personal DSM account), but if the folder and files in question are available to Plex (DSM 6) or PlexMediaServer (DSM 7).
