Library does not load on IOS - library perpetual loading on IOS

I have Plex media server installed on a home server. On my iphone, when I go to my library it just shows a loading page forever.

IOS version: 18.3.2 (22D82)
Plex IOS version: 2025.13.0

Everything else works, installing an older version of plex on a separate phone – library is accessible, accessing library through browser on Plex – all good. Only can’t access the library from my main Iphone

Troubleshooting already performed:

  1. On iPhone, within browser via Plex server address input directly, access to library functions properly.
  2. Limit IP Address Tracking disabled on Iphone – issue persists
  3. Plex has local network permissions enabled – issue persists
  4. Network security setting for Plex are already set to “preferred”.
  5. On Iphone, local network is allowed.
  6. In iphone plex app, log out and in again. Issue persists.
  7. Restart Plex Media server on DSM – issue persists
  8. Installing iOS Plex app on another device, works, the libraries are accessible.
  9. On main Iphone, delete plex app, restart iphone, reinstall plex and test – issue persists
  10. Revoke device authorisation and try again from the app – issue persists

Having the exact same issue. It’s not even a problem with loading content (you can still search for a show / movie and press where to watch and click your server and it works).

The app is bugged to the point where it won’t load libraries. Can’t revert updates either.

I can confirm the new iOS app has fully broken my ability to use plex from my phone. Same issues as reported here. Libraries won’t load and it’s only an issue on the 1025 branch. I have another iOS device still on 8.45 and everything works as per usual.

Hi @nick9745 / @KINSPLEX59 / @StealingTime - did you find a resolution to this issue you were having from a few months back? The symptoms you describe - where iOS devices specifically are unable to load a specific library - seem similar to the problem that I’m having in my support thread (All iOS devices unable to load a subset of TV shows).

@plexian3 unfortunately nothing has worked besides searching for the content you know is in your library. It did eventually fix itself on another device , but it was nothing I did just an update. Another device is still experiencing the issue.

sadly no - I had to do the whole Charles Proxy / iTunes dance of downloading the old 8.45 version of the app to keep things working. I’m monitoring the new app and the forums until I see people reporting that it’s becoming usable. For me, it was just too broken so I’ve rolled back my app version and frozen updating my plex server until I see an improvements in all the ‘new experience’ apps…
