I added a movie to the folder that all of my other movies are in, ALL of my other movies are showing up, but this one movie just will not show up.
I tried moving the Settings - Agents - etc “Personal Media” to the top of all of the suggested places.
I also did the “Plex Dance” and then the movie showed up for a minute or two then it disappeared again. The movie has been in the same folder that most of my other movies are in. There have been other movies added after this one movie, to the same folder.

D:\Movies\Borat - Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006) [1080p] [R] [voted 7.3] [Comedy]
Borat Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006) [1080p] [R] [voted 7.3] [Comedy].mkv
This movie continues to elude my movies list, the library.
Any kind of suggestions would be nice, I cannot find or watch the movie through Plex…
While the file name / folder structure appear ok, the way you describe it, it seems like Plex is matching the movie as something else or has merged it with some other movie.
from the troubleshooting 101 I see 3 approaches:
sort your library based on date added and check if the there’s a video in the sequence you added your movie that doesn’t fit in
filter the library by duplicates and check if there’s an entry that shouldn’t have a duplicate (file names show in the show info / and edit > info dialogs)
remove the file, perform a Plex Dance, re-add the file and click on the record the moment it shows up… then wait if it’s merged to something else
If nothing obvious shows you can check out the Plex Media Scanner / Server logs after doing #3 – that should tell you as what movie Plex matches the file.
The IMDB title is “Borat Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006)”. The folder the movie is contained in is called “Borat Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006)”. Once I shortened the movie name to just be “Borat”, it was picked up and has stayed in Plex library for the time being. Could it be that because the name was sooooo long, that it was causing issues with Plex?
Anyways, it seems to be working now!
Thanks for the assistance?!
