Library Folders no longer updating

Server Version#: 1.40.4.8679
Player Version#: N/A

New shows or episodes are not appearing in the library. I have checked the folders to ensure the files are there and playable outside of plex. Permissions on folders and files are also correct. A quick glance at the logs shows it tried to process some of those missing shows however I see no errors. This server has previously been working for over a year. Does not matter which player I use to connect to the server.

I would upload the full set of logs but it seems there is some personal information in some I’d rather not share. Let me know which files would be of most help from the log bundle and I will sanitize and post here.

Here is one of the deep analysis logs. It shows sealab 2021 episodes being analyzed but those are not showing up in any player. This is not the only affected show.

I checked “Sealab 2021”.
There is a metadata retrieval problem.

Can you give me a list of specific entries to verify here so I can report them to the metadata team?

The other show is actually Sealab 2020.
There was another I thought wasn’t working but it seems fine now.

It seems to me that the files of Sealab 2021 and Sealab 2020 are getting conflated in your library.

Try adding their respective release year to the folder names.

Sealab 2021 (2000)
Sealab 2020 (1972)

Then perform the old Plex dance with both Shows.

Don’t forget to check the “Collections” tab of your library. Seemingly missing shows/movies might be simply lurking inside a collection.

I’d suggest adding the TMDB, TVDB, or IMdb IDs to the folder names as well. That’s cured a few ills with metadata confusion for me in the past.

I tried both naming the files with years and imdb ids. Did the plex dance both times. I didn’t notice a change adding just the year alone.

For anybody else who stumbles across this, this is the format I ultimately ended up with:
Sealab 2020 (1972) (tt0068129)

That format is not useful in Plex.

This is the correct syntax:
Sealab 2020 (1972) - {tvdb-70528}
