I’ve installed Plex on my own pc and have my library hosted on a NAS server, partical updates does not work at all sadly, my nas is a synology ds414 but again, its not running the plex, just hosting the files…
So im wondering, are there any way at all, i can tell Plex, this single file, or directory has updated, please rescan this bit with 1-2 files in it.
Steps you should take to get this up and running right:
1st make sure you library is step in:
Movie (year) folder
Movie (year) filename
This makes it easy for plex to scan each file quicker plus of you have subs for each movie it keeps it organized
2nd use a program named nukedfiledele to delete all empty files as this slows down plex because it looks on every file
3rd your slow scan can be due to internet lag wireless is slower then direct connection
