Server Version#: 1.32.8.7639
Player Version#: Plex Web 4.116.1
After updating to 1.32.8.7639 my Home Videos folder - type Other - is empty. The folder is present, the files are still there. After multiple rescan attempts it still shows empty.
If I create a new library - Other Videos - with the same settings as Home Videos, it finds all the files, but they are all marked as unwatched.
I have the same problem with two libraries, both are type Other. All other media is OK so far. The update worked, and the server ran fine initially, then the files disappeared and eventually the server itself would stop 5-10 seconds after starting. I manually fixed some rights issues in the PMS server files and the server now stays up, and the files show up in one directory but are Unavailable. In the other, I get empty directories. In both, the files are there and can be played outside of Plex.
I found the problem. My admin account (the owner of the directories and files) had obtained specific rights to the directories and files in addition to the inherited rights. When I removed those specific rights, the libraries scanned correctly and restored all of the local files.
Two points,
A) you have your library under /home which is known to cause issues due to Plex running under the plex username.
B) You are using cloud storage AKA OneDrive for your file storage. I have seen cases where onedrive does funny things. IE Offload the file to save disk space, or prevent app access at times.
Not sure what you mean by “plex username”, unless you mean an account on the system, in which case I do not have anything other than my default account. Please advise what you mean here.
As for OneDrive, it has functioned as expected until the latest release. Further, I can add a new library called Other Videos and scan that, and it sees all the videos that are no longer visible in the Home Videos library. I can move it, however that is not preferable as I am also sharing that directory with my family via OneDrive. Worst case I can sync them off to a local directory, but not ideal.
