I added Rosemary & Thyme. It found the files and metadata just fine. It would error when playing so I thought maybe the filenames could be the issue, so I changed them. It won’t see the change. I moved them all to a different folder. Manually scanning does nothing. It still sees them as if they’re in the old spot but won’t play them. I delete them (in Plex, not the actual files as it doesn’t seem to know their location). I can not seem to re-add those files to Plex despite them being in the appropriate library.
The files play fine in Quicktime or VLC and are MP4s.

Y’know what? I kept rebooting the Mac and eventually it started working. Must have been due to file permissions and Mac’s being notoriously quirky. I really need a different system to host the PMS.
It doesn’t seem to be something I can control manually (unless someone here knows how to fix it in command line) but on some boots, the Mac just doesn’t get the required file permissions on the network. Probably a similar reason why I have to re-setup the printer on the Mac every time a Windows PC uses the printer.
