Library Not Showing Up

Used to think I was somewhat computer savy but have determined I’ve gotten old. Friend of a friend installed server on my computer and no issues x 2 years. Now can’t see my library (server page), or its greyed out (app on phone), or plex won’t connect (web page login - get can’t reach this page login). I can still see/connect to the libraries of others. Everything is stored on a connected external HD. Happened several months ago and resolved when deleted VPN (remains uninstalled). Have read through numerous support articles and forum posts but can’t figure out how to fix. Would I be better to delete and reinstall (is it decently self explanatory?). Or can someone point me to options for troubleshooting articles/forum posts. Thanks!

First things to check:

  1. is the plex icon still in the Windows task tray, in the lower right corner of the screen? If it’s not, does it appear after searching for plex in the Windows start menu and starting it manually?
  2. Go to your computer’s network connections. The one to your home network must not be classified as “public” but rather as “private”. If it’s not, the Windows Firewall will close all ports for security reasons.
