Library setup but doesn't show any movies

I setup my server via the server setup after installing plex. I created my libraries mapping them to the nas drive folder they are on, but the movies don’t show up in plex?

On DSM 6, you must give user Plex permission to read the share(s) containing the media.

On DSM 7 Beta , you must give system-internal-user ‘PlexMediaServer’ permission to read the share(s) containing the media.

On Synology, PMS does not have any special privileges. It requires permission to all it should see to preserve your privacy and protect your media.

ChuckPa,

I did check that user plex is set to read/write the folders I mapped to the library.

Using DSM 6.

May I have the Plex logs ZIP please (downloaded after attempting to scan the media) ?

I’m not onsite right now, having look. Console logs from plex.tv work?

Keith

Keith,

No. Settings - Server - Troubleshooting - Download Logs.

That ZIP file is what’s needed. Web logs do not tell us anything.

I’m getting connection refused after 98% uploading the log file. However when I login from the Plex on the NAS it’s asking me to setup again even though it is setup?

Seems after uninstalling and installing several time we lost the folder permisions for the user plex. Seems to be working ok now. Thanks.

I upgraded to Version 4.56.4 and also lost my movie collection. I can see them in recently added still and even watch start the movies from there. They just don’t show up under movies. it says " Not found

We’re having trouble finding this page. It might have been deleted" I don’t believe mine is permission related
