Library's metadata update/refresh not working

Hi,

I’m fairly new to Plex, but so far, I am liking it.

However, i have a question regarding a new music library I created that was a bit messy upon first use in Plex.

To remedy that, I spent many hours updating filenames, folder names, mp3 tagging, etc. to try and clean up the library and make it more “friendly”.

However, it’s been a couple days since updating the library (rescanning it in Plex) and refreshing the metadata also.

I have forced both a scan of the library and a number or metadata refreshes but the old “mess” still exists.

Hoping this is a common problem and that me (mr. newbie) is just missing something somewhere.

Make sure you’re server is configured correctly for local metadata.

Apologies, but i’m a Plex newbie, so i am unfamiliar with this “local metadata” setting. I’ve Googled it and am getting hits for the phrase “Local Media Assets”. Same thing? Related?

Sorry. I may need a little more guidance.
