I have a lifetime Plex Pass. Shows up in the account. I oen Pl;ex from the Synology server, Plex Pass also shows up (satisfies ‘same account’ requirement?).
But I have NEVER seen a download option for movies! NEVER!
I’ve been reading EVERYTHING I can find on how to download from Plex into my Synology. Still nothing.
I even set up another plex server on my windows desktop and set up Plex app on my (same) desktop. Still nothing.
Where is the 'Downloads option hiding?
Help!

What content are you attempting to download? Plex’s own online media will never be downloadable.
I’m referring to the content which shows up under “Movies & Shows.”
Read it - several times. Nothing in that article helps…
Hmmmm - what source does the 'download option refer to, if not the online stuff in Plex?
Per the document linked, you (and optionally your users) are able to download content which you host yourself, in your own libraries. Anything which is in Plex’s online media sources is not downloadable.
So is something like PlayOn or Audials the path to save Plex ‘Movies & Shows’?
Wow - color me stupid - I “assumed” (yeah, I know… 
) that Plex onlinbe content was saveable… Never saw any statement that it wasn’t - just seemed (natural) to be able to save.
I guess I can turn off the “frustrated” lamp now.

When speaking about “Plex”, it’s important to distinguish between the Plex Media Server, the Plex client, and the Plex online media services.
The server allows you to host your own content and view it from Plex client applications.
The Plex client allows you to view content from your Plex Media Server and Plex’s own online media services.
Plex’s online media services act a bit like Pluto, or the Roku Channel, or other free online streaming services; they provide ad-supported content which can be streamed for “free.”
So, using a Plex client you can view content from any source. However, you may only download (save) content which you host (own).
