New products deliver $$, core functionality doesn’t. Priority’s are clear.
@serkantueten Never Doubted Plex developers , great news I assume this new option can be set Per User not system wide?
@skraemertx actually this function is currently implemented system wide (Settings/Server/Network (advanced))
I have to use an older version of Plex, specific to having the function of DVR with HD HomeRun. If I upgrade to the newest version (at least as of a few weeks ago) I would gain this ability to limit streams, but lose my ability to edit the DVR that’s still in beta. Is this still the case? When is the DVR function going to be out of beta so I can use the newest update to include all the above?

I don’t show it on my side.
I’m using:
Server Version 1.3.4.3285
Web Version 2.13.0
What Server version are you using?
What Web version are you using?
I too would love this and am not seeing it. I’m using the same current versions as @mshoward82 and am not seeing it. @serkantueten I’m guessing you must be in a beta program?
I had a friend recently share his login which pissed me off. The other person is begging for access to something he should have never seen and I’m sure as hell not going to add him. Would be great to have a “suspended account” notice when they logged in.
@mshoward82 @“Ryan Gallagher” I’m on server v 1.4.0.3224 and web v 2.13.0 (Plex Pass channel)
@serkantueten what OS are you using? I’m not seeing that as an option. Only reference I am seeing is this:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/plex-media-server-plexpass-hwenc/
I’m running on windows machines.
It’s a beta release, only available in the Plex Pass Forum. Under PMS Preview releases.
It also let you try hardware transcoding if using Intel CPU’s and 64-bit O/S.
yes please
+1
This would be nice to have.
Version 1.4.4.3495 running here, and this feature is Implemented!
edit: its is implemented since V1.4.3
Finally they listened to us!
It is live and running. Excellent feature. While per user would be nice. coding is much easier for system wide, AND manageable. I also am GLAD that it DOES NOT affect connections on the local network. I can have 5 direct plays in my home, while outside only 2 can be used concurrently per user.
:THUMBS UP:
Just found this setting thanks to the thread. I also think finer control would be great but this is a good start. Not sure if this limit applies to users/friends or both.
Preferably just friends as they tend to be how I share my server. Users are just for the privileged lol.

This option is for every stream outside your local network.
+1 Need this !!!
This is something clearly Plex is not interested in implementing (after 3+ years of complaints) so the truth is they don’t really listen to the feedback and requests of paying Plex Pass members but yet sometimes add/implement stuff that is not needed or will never be altered in settings. I would love to see this facility implemented (it must be so easy for Plex to do). We all know the problems of friends/family giving logon details to other friends/family (who you don’t necessarily want to share with) sometimes by accident when visiting and leaving Plex logged in. I see comments like ‘just block them’ and ‘Man up and tell them’ yes we all know that’s fine and dandy (and oooohhh so tough) but in reality when dealing with friends and family it is not always so straightforward. One way I have gotten around this which is a bit convoluted but does seem to work is via an Ip Blocker. I monitor via Plexpy and see who is playing under the same account (family its easy as I know what tv models they have) and check where the ip address are located and then block that address if it appears not to be from where I would expect it. Until Plex pull their finger out and start reading and taking note of what Plex users want this seems to work for me.
You didn’t see this post? Its is already implemented ![]()
