We had a recording going on, and someone started watching that same channel on Plex Media Player. It gave them the option to Watch from Start and 100% wasn’t the beginning of the episode when it loaded. Also when they used Time-Shift to move forward in the episode it just replayed the beginning even though the progress bar was where they selected. Towards the end of the Time-Shifting (around 3/4 across) seemed to work which is weird.
Even happened if they pressed the other option when trying to watch the channel. Think it was Watch Live.
Have never provided logs for Plex Media Player before so not sure where to find them, or they’re needed.
I have pretty much the same issue. This started sometime in the past few weeks and at least a couple versions of PMS. I’m running a Windows 10 pc with a HD Homerun Extend and BETA PMS. The extend is on the latest April firmware. We record the local news and national news every weeknight. Most nights we’ll start watching one after it started recording. It would work great and we could slowly catch up skipping commercials. Now it’ll ask if you want to start from the beginning but it’ll then play the show live. If you click skip backwards it’ll sometimes then go to the beginning of the recording though sometimes just freeze at that point. If it works it’ll play for a while but will eventually freeze up either by itself or when trying to skip commercials. Extremely frustrating. So then we wait until it’s done recording and start watching. What’s changed? I can provide logs with some instructions. I think I turned some of the logging off, or down, to save resources but will turn them back on. Pretty frustrating to have a feature that worked for at least a year stop. I’m to the point where I might try a complete reinstall though really, really don’t want to. Come football season, or fall TV shows, it’ll be a huge disappointment to not be able to time shift recordings. Thanks!
Yeah that’s the exact issue that was occurring for someone on our server, explained much better by them than me! Hopefully someone from the Plex team can give an update as it’s very annoying!
